Abstract

613,843. Spectacle frames. LISSAC, G. Nov. 6, 1945, No. 29517. [Class 97 (i)] In spectacles comprising a brace including a bridge-piece having an arm extending from each side thereof and bearing a temple bar at its outer end, the lenses are secured to the ends of a pair of members which extend behind and parallel to the brace and are connected thereto adjacent the bridge, the members being long enough to permit of adjustment by bending. As shown, the lenses 2 are attached to the brace bar 1 through a member 12 welded, screwed or otherwise secured to the bar and having a plaquet 6 at one end and holes at the other through which a claw 9, Fig. 8, passes and engages holes in the lens. Alternatively, the claw pins may be carried on the member 12. The plaquets and the portions of member 12 supporting them may be omitted. In a modification, a bridge holds the lenses 2 together and is screwed centrally to the bar 1 to which the side arms may be pivotally or rigidly fixed.
