[Class 20(i)] A curtain or like rod comprises a tube 1, with a plug 2 press fitted in one end and having a projection 7 to form a fixed supporting element, and a sliding plunger 3 at the. other end with a projection 8, pressed outwards by a spring 4 which bears against a washer 5 pressed into the tube. A pin 6, passing freely through the washer 5, is pressed into the plunger 3 and so retains it.
