Abstract

611,410. Dispensing containers for powder. JOHANSEN, L. H. Oct. 9, 1945. No. 26355. [Class 18] [Also in Group XVIII] A soap powder container of sheet metal has at the outlet end a dispensing device comprising a capsule 5, 6, permanently attached to the container and accommodating a slide 11 that is movable from a position in which it completely covers the outlet to a position in which powder falls in front of it for ejection when the slide is restored to original position. The container is made with one end permanently closed and the capsule position plate 5 fixed to the other, the remaining capsule plate 6, with the slide 11, being secured, after filling, by inwardly bending and crimping flanges 10 of the plate 5 against the plate 6. The forward face of the slide and edge of the plate 6 may be correspondingly curved. For dispensing purposes the container 1 is supported in a bracket 2, Fig. 2, in which it may be secured by a pivoted arm 3, holes 4 in both arm and bracket being provided for use with a padlock for further security, if necessary.
