Abstract
610,979. Notice boards. WOOD, A. C., and COMMERCIAL CANTEEN EQUIPMENT CO., Ltd. April 18, 1946, No. 11960. [Class 3(ii)] A menu or notice board, Fig. 1, comprises a base plate 1, a framework 4 mounted thereon to take the menu or notice 5 and a hood-like member 10 containing an electric lamp, mounted above the framework so as to illuminate the menu or notice, the hood-like member, Fig. 3, being made from a sheet of flat material by bending it to a quadrant-like shape with top and bottom flanges 13, 14, by which it is attached to the base plate. The hood is closed by side wings 16 soldered or welded into place. The bottom 20 is cut out and provided with a grating 21 held by screws 22. The lamp 11 is mounted in a bracket 23, soldered or welded in position, or pressed up from the bottom. Tongues 24 are pressed up from the bottom to hold a transparent or translucent panel (not shown) placed behind cut-out stencil letters 12. The baseboard has an edging 3 provided with holes 2 to receive screws for attaching the board to the wall &c. The bottom member 6 of the framework 4 is readily detachable and is held in place by a headed-screw 7 locked by a peg 9.
