Abstract

A manure is obtained by treating household or similar refuse in a separating or screening apparatus for removal of dust, ashes and cinders, delivering the tailings therefrom on to a travelling band to allow removal (by picking) of any metal, broken crockery, or glass, rags, paper &c., pulverizing the tailings and delivering them to a mixing machine to which sewage sludge, either in the crude form or after dewatering, activating or digesting treatment, is simultaneously delivered, and transferring the mixture, after intimate mixing, to storage. Some or all of the dust and/or ashes separately by screening may be delivered to the pulverizer and/or the mixing machine.
