606,623. Fluid-actuated valves. GOSLING, A. W. Feb. 8, 1946, No. 4022. [Class 135] A pressure-reducing valve for maintaining a' constant ratio between the inlet and outlet pressures comprises a differential hollow plunger 8 provided at its smaller end with a conical valve member 10 controlling the passage of fluid from the inlet 6a, through passages 14, 8a in the plunger, to the outlet 4a, the plunger being subject to inlet pressure acting on the valve member and to outlet pressure acting on the larger diameter 17. Leakage past the larger diameter end of the plunger flows through a passage 16. The valve member fits loosely in the bore 8a of the plunger, whereby it is self-adjusting with respect to its seat in the inlet fitting 6.
