604,612. Wave-guides. LEWIN, L., and WRIGHT, C. S. Nov. 28, 1945, No. 32147. [Class 40 (vii)] A wave-guide 1 has one or more radiating slots 2 in one of its wider faces. Each slot is surrounded by a section of rectangular waveguide 3, the length of which is between onequarter and one-half wavelength, and is chosen so as to compensate for variations of the reactance of the slot 2 with changes of frequency. The guide section 3 may be provided with an iris diaphragm to facilitate impedance matching.
