Abstract

603,847. Sharpening razor blades. TROUP, W. S. Oct. 31, 1945, No. 28928. [Class 60] Means to facilitate the honing of safety razor blades of the type which are clamped to a curved configuration when being used, comprises a holder having undercut projections thereon so that when a blade is clamped beneath such projections it assumes the curved configuration which it has when used for shaving purposes and with the edges exposed for honing on a flat surface. The shield f of a safety razor, having a tapped hole h into which the handle d screws, is provided with blade-locating pins i tmdercut at i<SP>1</SP>. For honing, the shield is secured to the handle in reversed position, the guard being omitted, and the blade j secured by engagement under the undercut portions. In a modification, Fig. 9, the holder k is integral with the handle m, the implement being made of metal or plastic.
