603,807. Saws. KLOMP, P. P. Oct. 30, 1945, No. 28765. Convention date, July 19, 1944. [Class 145 (ii)] A chain saw comprises three series of cutting links A, A<SP>1</SP>, A<SP>2</SP> and two series of planing links B<SP>1</SP>, B<SP>2</SP>, the two series A<SP>1</SP>, A<SP>2</SP> defining either side of the saw-cut, the series A cutting along the centre line of the saw-cut, and the series B<SP>1</SP>, B<SP>2</SP> being symmetrically offset from the centre line, the width of each planing link being substantially half the width of the saw-cut. The cutting links are slightly higher than the planing links and the cutting links A<SP>1</SP>, A<SP>2</SP> alternate with either a planing link B<SP>1</SP>, B<SP>2</SP> or a cutting link A as shown in Fig. 4. The links A, B<SP>1</SP>, B<SP>2</SP> have a heel 1 shaped to engage a guide sprocket for the chain.
