Abstract

603,377. Scaffolding. HOLST & CO., Ltd., and MANNING, H. E. Oct. 19,1945, No. 27483. [Class 20(ii)] In a scaffold for use in the construction of cooling towers and like structures the main support members 1 are inclined to the vertical to follow the slope of the wall and are connected by horizontal members 6, 8 which form complete circles around the wall. The scaffolding is composed of angle-section steel (or wood) members joined by nuts, bolts and gussets to form a series of standard bays 4 interspaced by bays 7 of variable area which enable it to be adjusted to the contour of the wall. The horizontal members 8 of the variable bays are connected to putlogs 11 of the standard bay by means of hook bolts passing through slotted holes in members 8.
