Abstract
603,205. Junction boxes. SAVILLE, A., and COLLIER, A. Dec. 11, 1945, No. 33528. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XXVIII] In a back outlet box 1 having at least one conduit receiving socket 3, each socket is split and flanged at 9 and there is provided a clamping block 11 having, according to the number of sockets, one or more tapered grooves 12 in which the flanges engage, the block being threaded on a screw 15 carried by the box so that when the screw is turned to move the block towards the box, the tapered grooves draw the flanges on each socket towards each other simultaneously and contract the sockets on to the conduits. Each of the sockets 3 is formed separately from the box and the flanges 9 on each one may be splayed to enhance the contracting effect. Lugs are provided on the box as in Specification 603,200.
