Abstract

602,153. Reinforced concrete floor &c. beams. MACERATA. S. Feb. 6. 1946. No. 3765. Convention date Feb. 8, 1945. [Class 20(iv)] A reinforced concrete construction comprises one or more beams, slabs or like precast elements having a Hoyer-like prestressed reinforcement i.e. comprising a multiplicity of highly tensioned thin steel wires which are embedded in the concrete without hooks, plates or like anchors, in combination with a filling or other element having no pre-stressed reinforcement castin-situ upon and/or around and/or within the said pre-cast elements. In the form shown, a floor comprises pre-cast beams 1 having a Hoyer-like pre-stressed reinforcement 2 and conventional reinforcing rods 7 some of which project into reinforced concrete 4 cast-in-situ upon and around the beams. These beams may rest on transverse pre-cast U-girders (not shown) also having Hoyer-like reinforcing wires some of which may have their ends projecting into concrete cast-in-situ upon and within the girders. A method of joining two such girders, with their cast-in-situ filling, at right angles, is described. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 578,814.
