Abstract

601,861. Electromagnetic relays. AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC LABORATORIES, Inc. Oct. 9, 1945, No. 26278. Convention date, Oct. 9, 1944. [Class 38 (v)] Two relays mounted on a common plate 140 are interlocked by means of two levers, controlled respectively by the two armatures 102, 202 the arrangement being such that when either armature is in the attracted position, the other armature is free to move but when either armature is in the released position, the other armature is locked in the attracted position. The Figure shows one lever 11] controlled by the armature 102. When the armature 102 is attracted, a roller 106 operates the lever 111 so that its right-hand arm 112 rises and comes clear of a projecting portion 207 on the armature 202 so that this may move to the released position. In so doing a second lever behind the two relays and similar to the lever 111, moves so as to lock the armature 102 in the attracted position. The levers 111 are mounted on eccentric pivots which can be adjusted. The contact-spring operating arms of the armatures when unoperated engage fixed projections which produce a twisting action on the armature pivots thereby reducing wear due to vibration.
