Abstract
601,139. Snap-action switches; retractive switches. BROOKHIRST SWITCHGEAR, Ltd., and MORREY, C. Nov. 16, 1945, No. 30709. [Class 88 (v)] A. switch, e.g. a three-phase motor controller, as described in Specification 601,138 is operated by a handle on a shaft 32 which carries an arm 35 having a roller 36 engaging a camprofile 47 of a plate 43 biassed towards the roller by springs 44. Screws 42 retain the plate slidably in position on the face of a stepped bracket 40, the lower part of which embodies one bearing for the shaft 32. An alternative profile 48 on the plate 43 may be used to convert the snap-action switch to retractive actuation. A spare cam-plate, Fig. 5, may alternatively be used to obtain either two-position or " plugging " switching.
