601,058. Barometric gauges. GARRETT CORPORATION. Feb. 20, 1945, No. 4303. Convention date, Dec. 11, 1943. [Class 106 (ii)] A device for signalling when an aircraft reaches a certain altitude comprises an electrically-operated signal, an altitude-responsive switch in the signal circuit and manuallyactuated means to prevent the signal from operating when the altitude-responsive switch is closed, means being provided to hold the manually-actuated means in its operated position until the aircraft flies below the given altitude. An aneroid capsule 18 is situated in a chamber in communication with the atmosphere and closes a switch 20 to sound a horn 10 when the aircraft reaches the given altitude. Operation of a switch 31 will then energize a relay 33 to open a switch 25 in the circuit of the horn and, at the same time, the switch 25 closes a holding circuit 36 so that the relay remains energized until the switch 20 is again opened by the aneroid capsule.
