Abstract

600,462. Draughting-machines. KUMMER, F. June 28, 1944, No. 12312. Convention date, April 1, 1943. [Class 97 (iii)] A straight edge is mounted for angular and translatory movement over a drawing board by a system of guides and pulleys, angular position of the straight edge relative to a datum line being shown by relative movement of a scale and an indicator. In the apparatus shown, a scale of degrees 1 is mounted along the top edge of the board and a cord 3 secured to indicator 2 passes round a pulley 4 at a corner of the board, under pulley 5 at one end of the straight edge and over pulley 5<1> at the other end of the straight edge to the bottom right-hand corner of the board 6 through which it is passed to a tensioning device; a second cord similarly passes under the pulley 5<1> and over pulley 5 to a tensioning device at the bottom left hand corner of the board. The indicator 2 may be secured at any desired position by a set-screw 8, the straight edge then being free to move parallel to 'itself.
