Abstract

599,302. Lamp-caps and holders. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Nov. 22, 1945. No, 31464. Convention date, Nov. 25, 1944. [Class 38 (i)] Holders 2, 3 for a tubular lamp comprise tubular bodies 10, 22 housing spring-controlled insulating discs 13, 25 which are apertured to allow the ends of coiled spring contacts 15, 28 to engage the lamp terminals 7 in end recesses 6 when the lamp is mounted in the holders. The other ends of the springs 15, 28 are connected to the supply at terminals 19, 27. When the lamp is removed the discs 13, 25 are moved into engagement with flanges 12, 24 on the bodies under the action of springs 14, 26. In the holder 2, the end' of the spring 15 attached to the supply terminal 19 is in line with a supply terminal 20 and abuts it when a lamp is inserted, to close the circuit.
