[Class 44] In a padlock of the kind having a cover plate 17, Fig. 1, hinged to the body 10 for enclosing a paper seal covering the key hole 14, and retained closed by the hasp 11, the hinge pin 21, Fig. 2, by which the cover plate is attached to the body of the padlock has one end enclosed by one of the hinge lugs 18, so that the pin cannot be driven out. That part of the pin 21 which engages in the lug 19 may be slightly flattened at one point so as to be a tight fit therein, and the lug 19 extends to or beyond the end of the pin.
