Abstract

596,884. Pallets for making tiles &c. CARTER, G. H. July 31, 1945, No. 19619. [Class 87 (ii)] A pallet is provided with anti-friction members such as wheels or rollers, which are arranged to support the pallet as it moves along a support such as a track or rack. Fig. 1 shows the under side of a pallet having intersecting ribs 2, 3, and between the end ribs are journalled wheels 22. The tread of each wheel may be flat or convex. The wheel axes may be disposed not as shown but widthwise of the pallet. The pallet may be made from lightweight alloy, such as aluminium alloy, by die-casting, and the wheels of ferrous metal. Each wheel and its axle may be made in one piece and placed in position when the pallet is being moulded. The sides of each wheel may be slightly conical formation and the treads may be convex or flat.
