596,261. Firearms. TEGNER, H. S. July 25, 1945, No. 19062. Drawings to Specification. [Class 119] The barrel of a firearm is protected against rust by means of a container, enclosing solid moisture absorbing material and covering the end of the barrel and is perforated to communicate with the inside of the barrel. The container may be in the form of a cartridge which is slipped into the breech and a similar cartridge or a plug closes the other end of the barrel. The container may be transparent and contain material indicating moisture by colour change. The rear cap of the cartridge may have a vulcanite centre to allow the striker spring to be released.
