Abstract

595,638. Bottles for dispensing liquids. PATRICK, C. H. March 20,1945, No. 6978. [Class 125 (i)] [Also in Group XVIII] Bottles for dispensing liquids such as chemists supplies are provided with a recess c in the base having a hole through which passes a flanged threaded sleeve f secured by a locknut j. The hole is normally closed by a screw-plug l or cap m, the recess enabling the bottle to stand upright as usual. For dispensing, a delivery tap is fitted to the bottle outlet, the bottle inverted and the plug l or cap m removed so that the hole in the base acts as a vent. A hand-operated air pump may be attached to the hole to assist in the dispensing of viscous liquids, or a stirrer passed through the hole if the contents of the bottle require stirring before dispensing. The shape of recess approximates .to the cross-sectional shape of the bottle.
