Abstract
594,254. Electromagnetic relays. ALLMANNA S V E N S K A ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. May 28, 1945, No. 13277. Convention date, June 9, 1944. [Class 38(v)] A relay comprises two parallel electromagnets 2 having pole pieces 4 extending at right angles to the axes of the magnets and at both ends of the magnets. The armatures of the magnets are attached to a common balance arm pivoted at 7 and they may be formed in one with the balance arm which may consist of a sheet iron trough 6 embracing the pole pieces at both ends of the magnets. The bottom of the trough may be cut away at each end as shown at 14 to leave the depending side portions 8 to serve as armatures. The parts 8 may be bent towards or away from the pole pieces to vary the air gap. The moving contacts 12 are carried by a leaf spring 11 fixed at 10 and engaging at its free end in an opening in an arm 9 projecting from the member 6. When the member 6 rocks about its pivot 7 it brings one of the contacts 12 into engagement with the corresponding fixed contact 13.
