[Class 44] A spring clip, comprising a pair of similar twoarmed finger levers 1, has channelled clamping arms 2, the bottoms of the channels facing one another and being longitudinally arched at 4 where the levers are to fulcrum, so that they together form an opening in which is arranged the eye or C-shaped part 11 of a spring 10, which has extensions 12 passing through rectangular slots 9 on the clamping arm sides of the arched parts and lying in the channelled arms, thus pressing together the long clamping arms 2 and separating the short finger-gripping parts 3, which are turned up at an angle to the main part of the levers. The end walls 6 of the clamping arms are preferably inclined, thus closing the outer ends of the channels and forming a V-shaped entry 7, the bottoms of these walls forming stops for the ends of the spring 10, which is preferably a blade or strip spring longitudinally arched at its ends, the clamping arms 2 being correspondingly arched at 5 behind the V-entry 7 for linegripping purposes. Between this line-gripping part 5 and the fulcrum part 4 the levers may be straight, as may be the corresponding parts of the spring. The sides of the channels may diminish from the fulcrum part 4 towards the ends of the finger gripping arms 3 which may be broader than the clamping jaws to facilitate gripping them. The levers when of metal, e.g. steel or aluminium, are preferably pressed or stamped ; alternatively they are of moulded plastic. The channels of the levers may be wholly or partly covered, e.g. by an end tongue folded over the top of the channel. The clamping arms may open the spring by acting on its ends or on some intermediate position. In a modification, the extensions of the spring are straight, their outer ends bearing against stops formed by pressed-up tongues on the crests of the line-gripping arches of the clamping arms.
