591,061. Locking nuts. SECURITS LOCKNUTS, Ltd., and ILES, E. Dec. 13, 1944, No. 25032. [Class 89 (i)] Relates to lock nuts having a longitudinally split inner threaded member engaging an outer member along a conic frustum, keying means being provided to prevent relative rotation and consists in employing a key o of thick rectangular, preferably square, cross section prevented from dropping out at the lower end of the lock nut by pressing part r of the material of the outer member from its inner conical wall into the keyway. The key is retained at the other end by a washer q held on a shoulder p by turning over a sharp-edged annular projection n.
