Abstract

588,646. Rifle sights. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO., Ltd., and PERRY, C. A. March 2, 1945, No. 5226. [Class 119] Relates to aperture sights for rifles of the kind described in Specification 21,332/09, [Class 119]; in which a supplementary disc 15, having a series of holes 17 of graduated sizes, is mounted on a main apertured disc 1 having a central hole 3, by means of the pivot pin 13. The holes 17 are so disposed chat they can be brought into alignment with the central hole 3 in the main disc. According to the invention, the supplementary disc is held in place by means of a latching finger 21 slidable in a groove in themain disc and engaging one of a number of recesses 11 in the rim of the supplementary disc. The finger is held in place by a spring blade 27 mounted in an arcuate groove 25 and both are held in their grooves by a cover-plate 29 having a central aperture 31.
