[Class 40 (v)] [Also in Group XXXV] The parent invention is modified by niodulating the oscillator to be stabilized rather than the standard oscillator so as to give rise to a discriminator output sufficient to start the A.F.C. action. Amplitude or frequency modulation may be used, but the depth of modulation must be small and the side-band frequencies arising therefrom sufficiently close to the oscillator frequency f, to preclude any material affect on the intelligence being transmitted or received as the case may be. Specifications 518,480 and 572,918 are referred to.
