[Class 66] [Also in Groups V and XXII] Collapsable tubes of cellulosic, resinous, or rubber-base film-material, paper, or metal foil &c. are made by inserting two mandrels 2, 3, on a spindle 4 into a long, wound, or pre-formed cylindrical blank, and rotating the two ends relatively, so that a central part is twisted as illustrated to form the necks and shoulders ; two tubes being thus formed on severing with a knife 11. The necks are then shortened, thickened and screw-threaded in a mould which may be heated and which also compresses the folds of the shoulder.
