[Class 83 (ii)] [See also Group IX] A very thin seamless conical metal bobbin for use in a spinning machine is made by cold-pilgering a thick-walled tube directly to the required wall thickness, reducing the diameter at the same time if desired, and then converting it into conical form by a drawing process. The bobbin may, as shown, have grooves on the outside, forming ribs on the inside or may have grooves on the inside forming external ribs. Specification 333,281, [Class 83 (iv)], is referred to.
