In a submersible electric motor the rotor endring 2 is protected from fluid by a metal or plastic end cap 3 sealed by rings 4 and 5 to the rotor core 1 and the shaft 6 respectively. The space 7 is filled with a plastic compound, the rotor core being fixed by a ring 8 and a, nut 9.
