584,458. Ventilating drying rooms. STEPHENS, C. Aug. 14, 1944, No. 15483. [Class 137] [Also in Group XIII] A building or room for drying leather &c. is provided with manually-adjustable air inlet louvres 8 located at or near the floor level, heating devices such as steam or hot water pipes 7, or electric heaters, for heating the incoming air, and controllable roof ventilators 9. As shown, the pipes 7 are housed in casings 6 to which air is led from the exterior, through fixed louvres 5 or air bricks at the bottom of the side walls 4 of the building, and to the inner side of which the louvres 8 are secured. The condition of the drying air is under the joint control of a thermostat 19 and-a humidostat 24 within the building, the thermostat controlling the supply of steam &c. to the inlet header 17 of the pipes 7 through a motorised valve 16, and the humidostat adjusting dampers 15 in the roof ventilators 9 by means of a motor 23 and, if desired, controlling one or more humidifiers 25 which are mounted on top of the casings 6 and comprise a motor and fan for delivering atomised water, or a mixture of atomised water and air, to conduits 26 provided with delivery vents 27.
