Abstract
582,606. Tables. MUNN, R. B. S. July 14, 1944, No. 13540. [Class 52 (iii)] [Also in Group XVII] A table-top consists of a plurality of leaves hinged together, one being pivoted at the top of the box-like body of a picnic, tool or like case, and resting on the top of the body and rotatable in its own plane through 90 degrees so that the other leaf or leaves hang down and cover the side or sides. As shown leaves 12, 13, hinged to leaf 4 pivoted to the top of a partitioned box 1 form a table top which on rotation through 90 degrees allows the leaves 12, 13 to fold down to close both sides. The pivot consists of a cylindrical bearing recessed a't its outer end 7 and rotating within a tubular member secured to the body. A handle 5 in the form of a bar lying flush with the surface when inoperative is provided with an extension slidable in the bearing to allow it to be raised for use. Snap fasteners 14 or other locking means are provided to secure leaves 12, 13 in the folded down position.
