[Class 100 (iv)] Paper supports.-The tape-roll holder 8 of a teleprinter is mounted at the rear of the machine on a supporting member 9 readily removable from and replaceable in position. As shown applied to a combined keyboard transmitter and teleprinter, an angle member 2 stiffened by a quadrant 4 is fixed to the rear of the machine, the members 2, 4 having inturned edges 3 so forming a groove to receive the edge of a plate 9 carrying the tape holder secured by a clip 10. A vertical strip 6 fixed to the member 2 has a transverse arm 7 which engages a channel member 12 on the plate 9 when the latter is in operative position. In this position the plate is secured by the engagement of a notch 11 thereon with a struck-up tongue 5 in the groove. The inner edge of the plate bears against and is held by a clip 13 on a vertical rail 14 which together with the member 2 and side plates 15 form a receptacle for messages. The tape is guided by rollers 17, a roller mounted in a part 18 of a lever 19, and a roller 22 to paper feeding mechanism described in Specification 582,528. The lever 19 pivots about the axis of the upper roller 17 and carries a block 20 pressed against the rim of the tape-holder 8 by the action of a spring 21 on the lever 19. During its feed, the tape under tension and by its action on the roller at 18, causes the block 20 to be moved away from the holder 8. Plates 25, 26 which are grasped by the operator to remove the plate 9, prevent damage to the tape.
