Abstract
579,904. Multi-cylinder pumps. PRECISION DEVELOPMENTS CO., Ltd., OLAH, G., and ROSSZ, L. April 19, 1944, No. 7261. [Class 102 (i)] In a multi-cylinder pump of the type comprising radial cylinders 5, Fig. 1, held in a block 4 rotatably mounted on a stationary valve member 3, and in which the cylinder ports opening to valve ports 10, 11 are of less area than the cylinder bore, the valve member is provided with peripheral grooves 13 on either side of the high pressure port 10; the grooves are connected to the low pressure port 11 and act both to reduce the area at which leakage fluid under pressure reacts on the cylinder block, and to balance radial pressure on the valve member.
