578,311. Jet propulsion. GRIFFITH, A. A. June 22, 1943, No. 10066. [Class 114] In aircraft propelled by two or more jet engines, equality of thrust is secured by automatic control of the fuel supply of any engine, the jet pressure of which differs from a reference pressure. The reference pressure may be that of a master jet engine. In the form shown, pitot tubes 14 measure the pressure in each of two jet engines 10, 11, and the pressure is conducted to devices 16 with diaphragms 18, the upper sides of which are subject to the reference pressure. Movement of a diaphragm controls the fuel supply of its associated engine. The two engines are also fitted with temperaturesensitive devices, which through a connection 22 reduce the reference pressure and thus the fuel supply to each engine. The reference pressure may also be manually controlled.
