Abstract

577,334. Fire engines. MARBURGER, H. W. Feb. 9, 1944, No. 2433. [Class 47 (ii)] A mobile self-contained fire fighting vehicle carries means for fighting a fire with carbondioxide, foam and/or water. As shown, a pump 3 has a shaft 4 connecting it to the engine 1 of the vehicle. The pump has an inlet 11 from a water tank 9 and outlets 12 and 13 which are connected to the hose reel 14 and the standard hose line respectively. A foam generating box 15 receives water from the pump and is coupled to the discharge connection 12. Small easily replaceable CO2 cylinders 6 are connected in two banks to hose reels 8. 17 are suction hoses and 16 lockers for essential supplies. The vehicle is constructed to have a low centre of gravity.
