577,153. Eyeshields. DU BOIS, V. I., STERNE, R. C., SILBERT, E., TAYLOR, F. E., and HOLZWORTH, L. T. March 16, 1944, No. 4943. Convention date, Jan. 22, 1943. [Class 97 (i)] An eyeshield comprises a rim member 7 having one edge shaped to fit the face and a window member 8 detachably secured in its outer portion by interlocking means integral with the rim and window members. As shown, the window member consists of a sheet of transparent plastic formed with lugs 14 passing through slots 13, 13A in the rim member. The rim member is gapped, and the window member is formed with an outwardly-bowed portion 12, to accommodate the nose. The ends of the lugs 14 adjacent the gap in the rim member are formed as hooks 16 to retain them and the ends of the rim member in assembled relation. Both the rim and the window members may be made of a transparent flexible plastic. The rim is provided with a piping 9A to contact with the face and with ventilation holes 11.
