[Class 44] A clip for hose-pipes has lugs which receive the tightening screw and are detachable secured to the ends of a metal band, the lugs being formed so that they interengage telescopically to afford mutual guidance and support against distortion in the tightening operation. As shown in Figs. 5, 6 one end of the band 10 has a series of perforations 11 and the other end has an aperture 12 formed by stamping up a tongue 13. The lugs 14, 15 may be formed as sheet metal stampings. Fig. 15 has a U-form foot 26, the lower limb of which has a struck-out depending tongue 30 adapted to be engaged in a selected slot 11. The upstanding part of the lug has a pair of opposed struck-up tongues 20 the ends of which are shaped to engage the threads of the tightening screw 16, and has side wings 40 between which the upstanding part of lug 14 is received. The upstanding part of lug 14 is of U-form with perforations 17, 18 in the limbs through which the screw 16 is passed and engaged with tongues 20. One limb has an extension 31 received between the limbs of foot 26. The other limb has an extension 25 provided with a depending struckout tongue 27 adapted to be engaged with tongue 13 and aperture 12. The parts 25, 26 may have depending lateral flanges 41, 42 which embrace the edges of band 10. In a modification, Fig. 11, the lugs are of L-form, with upstanding limbs 14a, 15a respectively provided with pairs of parallel wings 54, 56, wings 54 being received between wings 56. The upper and lower edges of wings 56 may be flanged over to form channels in which the edges of wings 54 are accommodated. Limb 14a is perforated to receive the screw 16a the thread of which is engaged by tongues 20a on limb 15a. The other limbs of the lugs form feet 25a, 26a, bearing on the band and having depending tongues 27a, 30a, engaged in slots 51, 11a, and provided with lateral depending flanges (not shown) embracing the edges of the band.
