575,682. Electric couplings. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. Sept. 4, 1943, No. 14474. Convention date, Sept. 18, 1942. [Class 38 (i)] A coupling or terminal for aluminium or other soft cables or wires comprises nested contact members a, b, one or both of which has a groove or grooves m in which the cable k is clamped by a bolt e having its axis offset from the groove and from the centre of the structure so as to provide a resilient clamping effect, which may be augmented by a spring washer f. The bolt may also secure the structure to a bus bar or insulating support s. Several modifications are described involving contact members of square or other non-circular section, hollow contact members b and structures having a member a at each end of member b to accommodate two large cables.
