Abstract
572,587. Conveyers. BENNIS COMBUSTION, Ltd., and BENNIS, A. W. Sept. 28, 1943, No. 15865. [Class 78 (i)] Material is transferred from a hopper A to a receptacle P through a trough or conduit B by a reciprocating plate D which extends across the full width of the trough. An inclined plate E hinged to the hopper, or to the top of the trough, rests on the plate D and prevents backward movement of the material on the return stroke. The depth of material on the plate D is regulated by a vertically adjustable plate F. The plate D is connected by links G to arms H fast on a shaft J. An arm K, also fast on the shaft J, is connected by a link L to a crank M driven by an electric motor N through reduction gearing O. The throw of the crank or the length of the arms H can be varied. Material to be conveyed may be delivered to the trough at points between the hopper and receptacle.
