Abstract

571,715. Valve gear. LEEK, G. H., and ROSE, R. H. March 14, 1944, No. 4697. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (vi)] [Also in Group XXVIII] Hydraulic valve tappets T are supplied with lubricant by external pipes, and passages 33, from a hollow shaft carrying the valve rookers. The rockers are mounted on a hollow shaft 24 from which lubricant is conveyed by a pipe 35 extending along the cylinder head having branches leading to each tappet. Cam-shafts 14 are arranged high up on either side of the cylinder block as described in Specification 449,099. The tappets receive the lubricant by annular grooves 31 and radial passages 32. The application to a reciprocating compressor is also referred to.
