Abstract

567,880. Heat-exchangers. BELAIEFF, J. F., DELANEY, C. T., and GALLAY, Ltd. Feb. 5, 1943, No. 1956. [Class 64 (iii)] An annular heat exchanger comprises alternate coolant chambers 1, each constituted by a pair of parallel thin plates 2 spaced by a thin V-corrugated strip 3, and diverging passages for the cooling medium, each locating a pair of corrugated elements 5 separated. by a plate 4. In order that the elements 5 may be made from metal strips by a simple transverse corrugating process and without variation in length thereof, they are shaped as shown, that is, with corrugations of constant pitch, p =p<1>, flattened progressively from end to end.
