Abstract

567,336. Stud fastenings. TINNERMAN PRODUCTS, Inc. Aug. 14, 1943, No. 13198. Convention date, March 8. [Class 43] [Also in Group XXV] A fastening device for securing a stud by gripping its shank comprises a spring member preferably made by bending a blank of the shape shown in Fig. 5, having a central portion 10 with an aperture 20 through which the stud shank B passes, and integral legs 31, 32 provided with V-form notches 21, 22, the legs being bent inwardly so that notches' overlie the aperture and bear against opposite sides of the shank to grip it by spring action. The free ends of the legs extend beyond the shank, leg 32 passing between legs 31, to provide finger pieces 14, 17 which may be bent inwardly as shown ; and by nipping which the grip of the device on the stud shank may be released. As described, the stud shank is pointed and the aperture 20 is countersunk to facilitate insertion of the shank. The stud shown has an insignia head A and is secured to plies of garment fabric C. The invention is applicable generally, use with a collar being mentioned. A slot 34 may be provided to increase local flexibility.
