Abstract

562,469. Granulating and coating metals. SIX, C. G., and BERK & CO., Ltd., F. W. Dec. 21, 1942, No. 18121. [Class 82 (ii)] Light metal powders which may have a coating are produced by subjecting the molten metal to the action of a jet of an aqueous medium so as to break up the metal into particles, the aqueous medium containing a small proportion by weight, e.g. .0025-.025 per cent, of a water-soluble chromate, dichromate, permanganate, phosphate, silicate, arsenate, alginate, stannate, molybdate, antimonate, vanadate, tungstate or uranate. The process may be carried in the apparatus described in Specification 553,672.
