Abstract

560,006. Walls and columns. SCHAUFELBERG, E., and ACHESON, M. BACHTOLD-. Sept. 11, 1942, No. 12838. [Class 20 (iv)] Ferro-concrete stanchions 5 are formed at their upper ends witl cantilever projec tions 13 supporting joists 8 and have lugs 15 along their length carrying rails 9 to which concrete wall slabs 10 are secured. The joist! are secured by bolts passing through the projections 13 anc through saddle pieces 25. The bolt! also secure horizon tal projections 23 at the bottom of super posed stanchions 5( or parapet posts The rails 9 are sup ported by T-shaped blocks 26 on the lugs 15. The floor slabs are bolted to the saddle pieces 25 and may be secured to the joists by tongue and groove joints. The slabs may be secured by members 37, Fig. 12, having a T head 38 entering slots in opposed faces of the slabs and a cranked end 39 entering slots in the rail 9. The ceiling boards are hung from the upper floor slabs by bolts.
