557,311. Refrigerating. AKTIEBOLAGET ELEKTROLUX. Aug. 31, 1942, No. 12227. Convention date, Aug. 27, 1941. [Class 29] Absorption systems.-In a continuouscycle inert gas system the heat-operated pumping pipe 1d is located above the bottom of the generator 11 and the flue tube 10, and weak solution is led from the generator by a conduit 30 at about the level of the heated part of the pumping pipe. The usual liquor heat exchanger 13 may thus be located above the bottom of the flue and may be coiled around the generator and flue and be enclosed in the same heat insulation as the generator and pump. The generator may consist of a straight tube welded to the flue tube, and the pumping pipe may also be welded to the flue over part of its length. The generator is connected by a vapour conduit 28 to the condenser 18, and liquid is led from an absorber reservoir 16 to the pumping pipe. The generator may be fitted with a longitudinal plain baffle 31, Fig. 2, or with an open ended tubular baffle, or with a baffle having transverse tongues, to promote limited circulation of liquid in the bottom of the generator. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, comprises also a modificattion in which the generator is in the form of a jacket around the flue and the pumping pipe welded to the flue inside the jacket. It further comprises the subject matter of Specification 558,338. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
