Abstract

555,264. Automatic guns. VICKERS-ARMSTRONGS, Ltd., and HIGSON, P. R. March 3, 1941, No. 2863. [Class 92 (ii)] Relates to ejector mechanism for automatic guns of the long-recoil type and consists in providing an ejector-lever 4 pivoted at 2 to the barrel-extension 3 and engaging by its member 10 during run-out of the barrel with a cam surface 5 on a pawl-like lateral arm pivoted at 12 to the gun casing 6. The arm has a surface 14 whereby the member 10 moves the arm aside against the action of a spring so that it is inactive during recoil.
