554,677. Fireplaces. KIMOLO MANUFACTURERS, Ltd., and PARKER, G. V. March 27, 1942, No. 4108. [Class 126] Hollow fire bricks open at one or both ends and having slots or perforations 4 in one side are arranged at the sides of open firegrates to admit air to the fuel. The ends of the bricks are cut off at an angle so that the rear ends 2 seat against the back and the front ends 3 are square with the front of the grate. The top walls of the bricks may be formed with one or more openings 6 to supply air to the upper part of the fire. The bricks may be made from a mixture of diatomaceous earth and plastic clay burnt in a kiln.
