Abstract

554,250. Portable huts. BRADY, S. R. Jan. 9, 1942, No. 358. [Class 20 (i)] A collapsable hut comprises opposed walls 2 hinged at their centres vertically, two rigid walls 1 against which the others fold, and a roof 6 of one or two sections hinged to the upper edge or edges of the rigid side members so that the hut can be collapsed without their removal. Floor sections 8 may also be hinged to the rigid sides 1 so as to fold upwardly and the outer edges of the sections may be provided with fixed or hinged projections 10 to support them above the ground level. For a gable roof the roof sections are hinged together at the ridge and one section overlaps the other and a projection 11 on one bears on the other to seal the joint when expanded. Alternatively the roof sections may be free of each other at the ridge so that they may be folded downwardly against the rigid side walls.
