Abstract

553,642. Two-part couplings; terminal boards. BLACKBURN AIRCRAFT, Ltd., and MARTIN, J. H. Dec. 19, 1941, No. 15421. [Class 38 (i)] A multiple connector comprises a terminal strip 2 having recesses 3 in which are arranged annular terminals 5 attached to leads 1 and a co-operating strip 6 having projecting terminals 8 attached to leads 7 the two strips being capable of fitting together only in the correct relation. The terminals are held together by screws 9, and the necks of the terminals 8 rest in slots 4. The leads pass through bores in the strips, those of the strip 6 being nearer one side than the other so that when the strips are correctly related and the terminals 5, 8 are superposed, the surfaces of the strips coincide so that a cover 10 can be applied. The securing screws for the cover are asymmetric so that markings on the cover and the leads they identify cannot be incorrectly associated. Holes 12 in the cover coincide with the terminals for the insertion of a test prod. The strip 2 may be mounted on a panel carrying instruments and other apparatus, and the strip 6 is clipped at 20 to a set of interconnecting leads.
