553,380. Cycle saddle covers; luggage-carriers. NINNIS, R. J. Nov. 25, 1941, No. 15181. [Classes 136 (i) and 136 (iii)] A saddle cover comprises an inverted channelshaped member 1 of metal or other rigid sheet material shaped member of metal or other rigid sheet material, adapted to cover the saddle 2, connected by a telescopic arm or arms 6, 11 to a bracket 15 secured to the back fork of the cycle, this arm being nearly vertical when the cover is on the saddle, but lying horizontally between the cover and the bracket 15 when the cover is in its usual position on top of the bracket as shown in broken lines. In the latter position the cover may serve as a luggage-carrier, and it may be constructed to receive a drawer for tools or accessories. The telescopic arm preferably comprises two plates 6, 11, one sliding in the other and pivoted respectively to the cover 1 and the bracket 15 when the cover is in its usual position on top of handle 9 for manipulation and for engaging under the peak of the saddle to hold the cover in position. When the cover is on the bracket it is held in place by lugs 23 and a spring clip 21 on the bracket.
